William M. Cox, Jr., 91 of Punta Gorda formerly of Kirkwood, MO passed away January 28, 2010. He was the son of Alice (Swartzmann) and William Cox, Sr., born February 13, 1918 in Lafollette, TN. William was in the Engineer Corps for 8 years in US Army and was the President of Cox & Hunter Company before retiring in 1985. He was a member of Twin Isles Country Club, Elks Lodge, American Legion and VFW.
William will be greatly missed by his wife of 66 years, Bettie E; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Kelly; sons, William “Jody” M Cox III, Michael E Cox, Thomas E. Cox, Christopher B. Cox, Timothy F. Cox, Mark J. Cox, Craig F. Cox and Anthony J. Cox.; 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 243 West Argonne Ave., Kirkwood, Mo. 63122.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, Memphis, TN.
