Laura �Virginia� Hamilton, 86, of Punta Gorda went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2010. She was the daughter of John and Inez Gandy, born April 7, 1923 in Coolidge, GA. Virginia grew up in Punta Gorda and graduated from Charlotte High in 1941. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Charlotte Harbor. Virginia worked for Peace River Elementary for 30 years before retiring.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Gerald Hamilton and Bruce Hamilton; grandsons, Jarrett, Michael and Preston Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Jaleigh Hamilton all of Punta Gorda; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Montiville Hamilton and daughter, Laura Faye.
The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with a service in celebration of Virginia�s life to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Indian Springs Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Charlotte Harbor.
